Definitely take the passport - the Baegak Mounatain Trail is partially military restricted area. You can make your way, but you have to register beforehand (without any problems but you need the passport)

As the above poster has mentioned a passport is required for visiting Bugaksan but not Inwangsan itself. Although it is a great walk to combine the two peaks in one hike.
