Rothenburg ob der Tauber is world-renowned for its historic old town, so well and completely preserved that one can truly experience the Middle Ages there. The market square forms the heart of the town. From here, one can admire the impressive facades of the surrounding houses. In winter, one of Germany's most famous and oldest Christmas markets takes place here and in the surrounding alleyways: the Rothenburg Reiterlesmarkt.
