At Lehmen - 20 km from the mouth of the Moselle - in the years 1959-1961 the barrage Lehmen was built. The barrage regulates the water level and thus allows a boat trip on the Moselle.

The associated Mosel power plant generates electricity.

The lock Lehmen still has only one lock chamber. This is 170 meters long and twelve meters wide. At the gate on the side of the valley, to which the ships coming from the direction of Koblenz encounter, is a Stemmtor. The two wings of the gate open to the interior of the lock chamber. On the mountain side of the lock chamber is a lifting and lowering. As the name suggests, this can be driven up or down. The control takes place from an operating point located at the chamber.

At this point, a small rest bench offers a shady view of the barrage. On the Würzlaysteig is still a small board with information, but no rest stop.
