Magnificent views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Easily accessible via various hiking trails and/or the cable car.

You can park, for example, at the Schmitten valley station and take the cable car to Schmittenhöhe. Then take trails 68 and 65 to the Sonnenalm cable car mountain station. This will take you back to the Schmitten valley station.

The official Schmittenhöhe hiking trails can be found at schmitten.at.

You can from the Schmittenhöhe walk wonderfully along the Panoramaweg and comes past 3 cabins, you have to return, should plan in any case 3 hours. It should also take a hat, etc., the sunlamp is strong and there is little shade

Ideal starting point for hikes with summit view. The Höhenpromenade down to Sonnkogelalm is well suited with children. Mountain railway ticket a bit expensive.

From the Schmittenhoehe you can take a nice day tour (Pinzgau walk) to Mittersil. Nice view to the Tauern (Groß Glöckner, Groß Venediger) I went this way in 1990. 🏔️
