    The 1,056-meter-high summit of the Knogl lies on the beautiful ridge walk from Predigtstuhl to Hirschenstein. In contrast to the Predigtstuhl the rocky Knogl is only partially wooded and so you can expect a beautiful view. In addition to a bank, there is also a small refuge, where you can find shelter in bad weather.

                          Great distant view, beautiful rocks on Knogel. The Knogelsteig is a very beautiful, winding hiking trail. Probably only recommended when the weather is nice, as it is very steep and full of tree roots

                              The Knogl is the highest point in the municipality of Sankt Englmar. There is a hut right next to the summit cross. The interesting Kudernhütte is not far away.

                                      From here you have a great view towards the Danube and the Alpine foothills. On a clear day you can see all the way to the Alps.

                                        In winter, there is guaranteed snow and many sections of the trail can be icy 🧊❄️, so crampons on your hiking boots and poles can be very useful. A fantastic view from the summit in the afternoon sun. After the descent, we recommend a Kaiserschmarrn at the Bergsport in St. Englmar, named after the medieval saint who was denied his last meal! But that's another story.
