The salt well in the center of the chamber forest -

In 1870, the salt spring was rediscovered. The high concentration of sodium, but also of magnesium and potassium, led to the establishment of a thermal and thermal establishment in Beurig, with the saline as the center of a thermal park. Up to 10,000 bottles have been filled and shipped each year. The salt well is considered Germany's richest source of calcium chloride.

During the Second World War, the inhabitants of the surrounding villages used salt water for cooking and baking bread.
