There is something for every taste here: Whether you want a bar, restaurant, beer garden, discotheque, pub, snack bar or upscale gastronomy, you will find a wide selection here. To get started, you can walk along Hammer Straße and turn off towards the Rhine from there.

        Düsseldorf-Hafen is a district of Düsseldorf characterized by industry, logistics, trade and office use with only 130 inhabitants, which corresponds to a population density of 34 inhabitants/km² on a total area of 3.79 km²; This makes it the most sparsely populated of Düsseldorf's 50 districts. Düsseldorf's commercial port, which opened in 1896, occupies a large part of the area; it is the third largest inland port in Germany and part of the Neuss-Düsseldorfer Häfen GmbH & Co. KG. The Hafen district belongs to the 3rd district.

        For a long time, the port was not perceived as a part of the city, since this area was a large (partly closed off) industrial area. Since the 1990s, the parts of the port area directly adjacent to Unterbilk have been repurposed as the so-called “media port” and the subsequent redevelopment, some of them with architecturally ambitious buildings, brought the area to public attention.

          It's a must for architecture lovers: Düsseldorf's Media Harbor boasts a host of big names. With the three-part, organically shaped Neuer Zollhof building ensemble, star architect Frank O. Gehry has created a true Düsseldorf landmark.
          David Chipperfield, Joe Coenen, Steven Holl, and Claude Vasconi also contributed to making the tour through the formerly derelict harbor area one of the city's tourist highlights.
          The city's foresight, which did not pursue land redevelopment but instead individually repurposed each plot of land, is bearing fruit.

          The Media Harbor is home to not only 700 companies, but also some of the city's best and most popular restaurants.

                The American architect Frank O. Gehry represents the structural transformation of Düsseldorf's harbor. Just in time for the turn of the millennium, this expressive building ensemble was added to the list of Düsseldorf's landmarks. Gehry created three sculptural, organically shaped buildings that defy any geometric constraints and differ in materiality, height, and formal language. The three facades are particularly contrasting: clinker brick meets stainless steel and brilliant white plaster.
