The Alpe Schönberg is located in the Schönbergtal (Riedbergpass) at 1,341 m at the foot of the Besler between Obermaiselstein and Balderschwang. It is managed by Andreas Eberle and Theresa Rothmayr.

From June to September they look after around 100 young cattle, 2 cows and 2 Haflingers with foals and 2 donkeys. And of course, hikers are treated to a snack made from local products, a cup of fresh milk (from cows with horns) or a glass of beer. The homemade cakes (with spelled flour) are also a special highlight. The Alpe can be reached by bike, on foot or easily by bus for every guest, young or older. If the weather is bad, there is a cozy dining room available for refreshments.
The Alpe Schönberg is only open in summer, daily from around mid-May to the end of September.
