The world's largest Wagner memorial, raised at the foot of the sandstone cliffs, can not be missed with a total height of 12.5 meters (including pedestal). A short path leads to the left and right of the semicircular terrace up to the stone pedestal with the monument. The bronze figure, over 4 meters high, Wagner show larger than life as a Grail Knight with harp in the left and the cup of the Holy Grail in his right hand, surrounded by five female and male figures at his feet, representing the most important elements of his music: the spherical, lyric, dionysian, demonic and tragic. The monument, designed by the Dresden painter and sculptor Richard Guhr (1873-1956) before the First World War and made in bronze in 1928, was inaugurated on May 21, 1933, the eve of Richard Wagner's 120th birthday.
