The building was badly damaged during the Second World War in 1944 and was repaired by Siegfried Schmelcher in 1951. From 1962 to 1963 the facade painting was restored. From 1990 to 1991 the interior was remodeled again.
Inside there is the last Gothic stair tower with a snail in Munich.
