White Rose Memorial: Information at a Glance
1. History: Starting in 1942, members of a Christian-motivated resistance group in Munich, the White Rose, distributed a total of six leaflets calling for resistance against the Nazi regime.

2. Members: The inner circle consisted of the siblings and founders Hans and Sophie Scholl, their fellow students Alexander Schmorell, Christoph Probst, Willi Graf, and university professor Kurt Huber.

3. Permanent Exhibition: Since 2017, the completely revised permanent exhibition has been located in the main building of the Ludwig Maximilian University.

4. Significance: The history of the White Rose is being reworked at the site to commemorate the group's heroic deeds.

The memorial in the Hofgarten directly behind the State Chancellery in memory of the resistance and the murdered Jews in World War II is a cube at the northeast end of the Hofgarten at the transition to the English Garden. It reminds of the resistance among others with quotations from the leaflets of the "White Rose". Visitors often place pebbles on it. They should say we / I was here thinking of you (a missing family member, friend, etc. who were persecuted by the Nazis and have "disappeared" since).

This memorial commemorating the resistance group White Rose was created in 1996 by Leo Kornbrust. On the west side is cited from the pamphlets of the "White Rose" and on the east side are quotes from two resistance fighters to find.
