This view can often be seen on the "Hohes Elbufer" hiking trail, which is located at the beginning of the "Altonaer Balkon".

The facility owes its name to its viewing platform on the Geest slope 27 m above the Elbe with a view of the Hamburg harbor and the Köhlbrand. The extensive park, created after the Second World War, is a popular excursion destination for Hamburgers and visitors to the Hanseatic city and represents an important connection between the Elbufer hiking trail and the Altona fish market and the Neu-Altona green belt.

Probably the largest balcony in all of Hamburg with a fantastic view is located on the Geesthang in Altona, opposite the Altona Town Hall, above the Elbe. The Altona balcony offers breathtaking views of the Köhlbrand Bridge, the old port terminal and most of the container port, the dockland and of course the Elbe. The park with its large plateau is a popular place for both visitors and Hamburgers to linger and enjoy the view. This view is also enjoyed by the "fishermen" of the bronze statue by Gerhard Brandes from 1968, which is located in the middle of the square.

Beautiful view of the port with the Elphie, Carpe die, Stage Theater, Landungsbrücken, towards the container port. Wine is grown there on the slope!
