Of course, like every day, it's completely crowded. Taking pictures without passersby is almost impossible. The old town captivates everyone, and you can hardly get enough of the colorful, crooked houses, some of which date back to the Middle Ages but have been beautifully restored.

The guilds are long gone, but their symbols still exist. They are recognized and acknowledged as professional symbols; they can often still be found in modified forms on company vehicles, advertisements, and letterheads. They are still used as symbols today, sometimes traditionally as nose signs. At guild meetings, these symbols are sometimes displayed on guild flags. Symbolic tools of the respective trades were used in guild symbols. In addition to descriptive symbols, such as a pretzel for the baker or a hammer for the blacksmith, the guilds also identified themselves through symbols, using patron saints. In Catholic regions, these were saints, and in Protestant regions, later, figures from ancient mythology. Just as the composition of the guilds (which sometimes combined different professions), the symbols also varied depending on the region.

The guild signs not only had a meaning for the internal understanding of the respective guild, but also served as advertising or as a sign for illiterate or differently multilingual population groups.
