A magnificent castle which offers a splendid view, an association of volunteers takes care of the restoration of this place rich in history. Also, it has a large park surrounded by walls where there is a beautiful chapel. Guirbaden Castle is the largest medieval fortification in Alsace. From 1219 onwards, Friedrich II von Staufen built a palatial-like palace at Guirbaden Castle with great effort, the largest in Alsace.
Guirbaden Castle can be reached via hiking trails from Mollkirch in the east, Grendelbruch in the west, the Fischhütte in the south and the Floessplatz in the Breuschtal in the north.
