'Miet' after the last miller. Actually the Heidemolen that used the water of the Asbeek and the savings pond (Heideweijer) for the overshot wheel. There was already talk of a watermill on this spot in 1598. It was one of the ban mills of the lords of Pietersheim, later of the De Merode family. The current owner has meanwhile changed the old weathered wheel for a more modern wheel and new feed chute. An example for the many similar old mills.

The mill was first mentioned in 1598, but is possibly older. The stone with the date 1645 refers to a later renovation. It was the second ban mill of the lordship of Pietersheim. The other was the Dorpermolen. The mill was repeatedly destroyed, namely in a fire around 1890, and in a collapse due to underwashing, in 1910. It was rebuilt again and again. For a long time the mill was owned by the noble family Merode, but in 1951 the mill was sold to a private miller. In 1967 there was a dike breach and this meant the end of the water mill business. They switched entirely to an electric motor. In 1971 the mill was shut down.
