Villa Van den Akker is a detached villa in eclectic style with a double house elevation and has three bays and two floors under a hipped roof. The building was constructed in 1919.
Piet Van den Akker was born in Oirschot in Brabant. According to tradition, his father was already a timber merchant and Piet took over the trade at a young age after his death. There were many pine forests around Sint-Huibrechts-Lille, owned by the main Teuten families, including the Klok family. Piet Van den Akker bought wood from them and met Jeannette Klok in this way, whom he married on 2 July 1906. According to family tradition, Piet Van den Akker built the house on half of the garden plot of his wife's parental home, which she inherited after her father's death in 1908. However, this is not confirmed by the data from the cadastral registers.
