Translated from the biography of Stefano Devoti (IT):
I began my artistic practice in painting studios and then trained in quarries, in the metal and foundry industries, in printing, in wood technology and at the Scuola Libera del Nudo, the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. My attention is focused on the dimension of the threshold, on the border areas marked by the various phases of artistic creation: I use a strongly interdisciplinary approach to compare the key moments of the creative process. When working outdoors, I pay particular attention to the human experiences that have crossed the land, seeking the thread of the perpetual dialogue between man and nature. I experiment with papermaking, especially with bamboo, which goes from raw material to paper or any possible expression. I am a member of ALI, Free Engravers Association, and I work mainly with woodcut. I trained as a screen printer at the Studio Fallani Venezia.
