The tower is located in the southeast of the marshland island of Föhr in the district of the city of Wyk auf Föhr in the district of North Friesland. It stands on a ridge of a rather low height above the south beach of Wyk near the Kurmittelhaus.

Instead of a beacon built in 1892, today's tower was built in 1952. He has a height of about eight meters; the height of the fire is 10 meters above MThw.
