    The Charcones are so-called tidal pools, which offer special swimming opportunities at low tide. Many fish, shrimp and crabs can also be found in the tanks themselves.

    About 1.5 km south of Ajuy, a path runs past a settlement of houses to a rocky outcrop. At the time of our visit, small stones were piled up here, indicating the descent. From here it goes down to the pools.

    Attention: this place is not for people with reduced mobility. I would recommend a minimum level of sure-footedness (sturdy shoes!), as some sections require easy climbing and the stones are sometimes very slippery due to the layer of algae!

    Please be sure to pay attention to the tides. If the tide returns, returning may be difficult/dangerous!

        WARNING: This place is dangerous even at low tide. We had to watch a helicopter rescue because three amateur fishermen were caught by waves at low tide. Locals just shook their heads. Just leave it alone.
