Large parts of the city wall from the 15th century are still preserved, including 5 of the 14 towers and one of the two city gates. The late Gothic town church, the vicarage and the town hall form the center of the listed town centre.

The town of Heldburg is embedded in rolling hills, not far from Hildburghausen in Thuringia and Bad Rodach in Bavaria. The city's landmark, the Franconian lamp, can be seen from afar.
Many sights can be found here, the Veste with the castle museum being the first. There is only a lack of gastronomy, fortunately the restaurant at the castle will open in April.
