The brick building with sandstone structure and terracotta jewelry was built in 1893 to plans by construction director Carl Zimmermann on the Oberalteallee and initially housed the district office of the police department. The architectural style is inspired by Renaissance buildings. Until 15 March 2009, the police station 31 was housed here. Since 16 March 2009, the police station is located in a new building further out of town in the Oberalteallee opposite the shopping center Hamburger Meile.
