            Quite unlike the path on the western shore, the path takes us a little from the lake, but mostly with a view, over the gently rolling hills, at first through a small, narrow, magical Alleepfad, the one almost swallowed in the summer. We come through the very well-groomed village of Stipsdorf, which one still admires in its pouring winter rains its prosperity. Then it goes through a piece of forest and we come past the sailing club back to the city.

                  The large Segeberger See (Lake Segeberg) lies southeast of the town of Bad Segeberg. It covers approximately 178 hectares and has a maximum depth of 12 meters. There is an island in the lake that remains underwater almost year-round. The lake also has a unique history. It originated from a salt dome containing gypsum rock that rose up to near the surface and was eroded by released groundwater after the glacial permafrost thawed. The overlying rock layers subsided, creating depressions that filled with water. Over time, the resulting lake basins split into today's Segeberger See and Klüthsee.

                  There are three boat rentals along the shore: near the town, in Klein Rönnau, and in Stipsdorf. There is also an outdoor swimming pool in the town and in Klein Rönnau.

                  This lake also offers great opportunities for anglers. You can fish for pike, perch, eels, carp, tench, bream, roach, and rudd here.
