The former monastery estate was used for centuries as a crangienhof (self-sufficient farm) for the monastery. He is probably also the court with the most eventful history, but certainly one of the oldest and at that time the largest in terms of area in the northern Upper Palatinate. The heart of the Mitterhof has existed since the 16th - 17th centuries and is a listed building as a whole.
It is built as a four-sided courtyard with a large garden adjoining it, which is surrounded by a high wall. At the southern tip there is a small chapel that is also open in the summer months. It is worth a visit, it has been beautifully renovated.

The Mitterhof is probably the best-known farm in the Stiftland. The former Crangienhof (farm for self-sufficiency) of the monastery has been asleep for many years, but Kerstin and Matthias Frank and their family have been working on its revival for some time - among other things with the farm animal ark with ostriches and primal pigs, a farm shop with regional products, the farm café with coffee and cake as well as regular ostrich and pig dinners.
