Dominating the village is the ruin of a once-mighty castle.

However, reports indicate that it was already in a severely dilapidated state by 1522. The then Spanish rulers ordered its restoration so it could be used again in the fight against the numerous seaborne raids by Berber pirates who even reached this area.

High on a hill with beautiful distant views lie the remains of a once mighty castle. At the moment the ruins are still not easy to reach but you will no longer be fired upon as you climb the hill in the hot Spanish sun ;-) Entrance is free.
