It was built in the 11th and 12th centuries, during the peak period of the Romanesque in Catalonia.

The church has a single nave structure with a semicircular apse. Its main façade has an entrance portal decorated with archivolts and sculpted columns. It also has a square bell tower attached to the south side of the nave.

Inside the church, you can see some Romanesque decorative elements, such as capitals sculpted with plant and animal motifs. Some wall paintings dating from the 13th and 14th centuries are also preserved, although in a fragmentary state of conservation.

Historical and cultural importance: The Església de Sant Andreu de Borrassà is a monument of great historical and cultural importance in the Alt Empordà region. Its well-preserved Romanesque architecture and decorative elements make it an important testimony of Catalan Romanesque art.
