Two neoclassical colonnade walks line a small lane leading to St. Stephen's Church.
They are called scrapers.
A butcher's shop was set up here in 1724, where butchers sold their products until the 19th century.
The name means meat bank in Middle High German.
The Scharren is directly based on the so-called "Gewandhaus", a building that served as the guild hall of the local cloth makers in the Middle Ages.
A café at the Gewandhaus is still a reminder of this today.
