the Bremerhaven water level indicator is located at the southern end of the Weser dike in Mitte. He informed ship guides about the tide level of the Weser estuary. Like the Mayor Smidt Memorial Church and the "Lange Heinrich" in the past, the water level indicator is Bremerhaven's landmark.

The water level indicator on the Weser dike was installed by the Geestemünder Eisengießerei and Maschinenfabrik Möhlen & Seebeck in 1903 and operated in its actual function of informing the public and shipping about the tide levels until 1973. The device consists of a lattice mast with a yard and pole and used day and night signals to indicate the tide-dependent flow directions, the water levels in meters (1 meter = 1 ball) and 20 cm steps (20 cm = 1 cone). An associated residence and service building, expanded in 1942 and rebuilt in 1952, serves as a kiosk in the summer months.

Somewhat inconspicuous on an old, meanwhile unused harbor basin is an inconspicuous, gray box in the vicinity that indicated the water level of the Weser between 1903 and 1929. In 2015 this small technical facility was restored.
