The Haselbacher ponds are worth a hike at any time of the year. I know this so well because these ponds are almost on my doorstep. I live in Regis Breitingen, am now 60 years old and have known and walked these beautiful ponds since my childhood. There is much to discover - cormorants, silver and gray herons, storks, swans, fish and many migratory birds that rest in the ponds.
The huge trees around these ponds are especially beautiful in spring and autumn. Check it out It is really recommended.

The Haselbacher pond area with its existing ponds and the Pleiße is an important breeding and resting area for a number of bird species. The Haselbacher ponds are among the most important breeding areas for the little grebe and mute swan in Thuringia. The ponds are also significant as a passage and resting area. Use the beautiful observation tower and watch the ponds with its residents and guests. It is very easy to drive on from all sides and is very popular with hikers.
