Old town tour

A stroll through Münster's old town is a varied walk. It usually starts at the cathedral square. It continues to the Prinzipalmarkt, Münster's living room. Three of Münster's landmarks are united here: the historic town hall with its peace hall, St. Lamberti Church with the Anabaptist cages and the characteristic gabled houses with their arcades, in which exquisite shops invite you to shop.

From the Prinzipalmarkt you can easily reach many of Münster's most important sights on foot: the Krameramtshaus, the modern city library and the so-called Baroque island with the Erbdrostenhof, the Clemens and the Dominican churches.

Münster is a city that keeps its history alive. Houses, churches and squares in the restored old town “tell” stories from different centuries and create a backdrop that makes every visit to Münster an experience.
