Remains of a luxurious fountain dating from the end of the 4th century AD. It was a two-story, U-shaped structure with open and flexible legs. On the lower floor there was an open tank with gutters for the water supply. Above were four elaborately decorated pediments resting on a wall, possibly with niches for placing statues.
It is located on the northern sidewalk of Egnatia Street (the current one, which maintains the exact same layout as the old one located several meters below it), south of the Bey Hammam / Loutra Paradisos, at a deeper level and in direct proximity to the old central avenue of the city, the Decumanus Maximus, parts of which were excavated during the opening of the metro (Venizelos Station and Agia Sophia Station).
From the inscription, what is left "... AND THIS WORKER OF GLORY..." we would learn the name of the sponsor of the Monument, but unfortunately it was not saved (Source: Thessaloniki, the Hidden City, published by the Ephorate of Antiquities, 2012)
