The ruin Pfeffingen shines since August 2017 in new splendor. The renovation of the castle complex cost a good seven million francs. By the increase of prominent walls the ruin Pfeffingen received a new, impressive face. Broader paths and new information boards as well as two barbecue areas and benches await your visit. A special highlight is a new viewing platform, which offers both insights on further, previously invisible wall remnants, as well as the view opens to the south in the Laufental.

A very beautiful hike from the Pfeffingen ruins to the Schalberg waterfall.

There are also several highlights along the way. The section with the Münchsberg, Engenstein, and Schalberg ruins, as well as the Schalberg cave, has steeper gradients, and the path is partly rocky and riddled with roots.
