We show objects from everyday life: flint tools from Neanderthals, earthenware pots from the first farming societies, chic tableware from the Roman era...
Many objects illustrate major social changes. Bronze swords, for example, testify to the emergence of an elite in the Iron Age. A unique gold coin treasure tells of the conquest of our region by the Roman general Julius Caesar.
Our core collection proves that Roman culture was also accepted by us. There are impressive architectural fragments, refined jewelry and a wide variety of Roman statues of gods and dishes to see. The rich contents of tumulus graves also appeal to the imagination.

The exhibition is ideal for a visit with children. There are educational films, models and lifelike figures in synthetic resin. Interactive applications allow them to discover the past through play.
Be sure to pick up the child-friendly audio tour upon arrival. Archaeologist Bob de Graver talks passionately about his love for the past. He guides the children to the most fascinating objects. In this way they get to know the living environment of our ancestors in a pleasant way.
