Salineira statue on the bridge overlooking the moliceiro boats. The Salineiras (salt women) were women who worked in the salt pans. Their job was to transport the salt from the boats to the warehouses in wicker baskets that they carried on their heads. They thus made an important contribution to salt production.

The statue "A Salineira" is one of four bronze statues located at each of the four corners of the bridge over the main canal. As a worker, she was responsible for transporting the salt from the salt pans to the city.
