In the vicinity of the "Wernigerode Hasserode" train station you will find an attractive hiking area with numerous interesting destinations and viewpoints on both sides of the Drang valley. The train station is therefore a good starting point for hikes, but also for walks through the district of Hasserode.

The station of the Harzquerbahn "Wernigerode Hasserode" is located in the Drang Valley at the western end of the Hasserode district of Wernigerode.
It has two barrier-free platforms without a roof with a few seats and is around 280 meters above sea level.
Seen from the main station, Hasserode station is the fourth station in the city of Wernigerode and is around 4.3 kilometers from this terminus of the Harzquerbahn.
Between Wernigerode main station and Hasserode station, the Harzquerbahn has something of the character of an old-fashioned tram.
