story

Fikensolt is mentioned for the first time in 1127 in the chronicle of the Rastede monastery, in which it is reported that the knights of Fikensolt donated the building of the St. Petri Church in Westerstede in 1123. The Fikensolter family belonged to the ancient nobility and the Counts of Oldenburg were required to perform horse service.
In addition to extensive estates, numerous Meier and serfs in the counties of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst also belonged to the Fikensolter estate. The ancestral seat of the family was a castle castle, which was probably built before 1123. Today's Fikensolt Castle was built in its place in the 18th century.
In the immediate vicinity of the castle was the Kobrink house, which had belonged to the von Kobrink family since 1587, who had their headquarters on Gut Altenoythe and who owned other estates and estates in Westphalia. The farm was leased among other things to the former bailiff Anton Günther Maxwell, who was previously his official residence in Burgford
