When you think of tobacco cultivation, you usually think of tropical islands or large South American farms, but less often of the Uckermark in northeast Brandenburg, although this is a tobacco-growing region with a 300-year tradition. In a former barn you can learn interesting facts about tobacco cultivation, processing and technology. Well worth seeing

From what was once the largest contiguous tobacco growing region, all that remains is this museum, which shows the various eras in transition. From Friedrich over'n Kaiser to the turn. After that, tobacco growing and the related industry collapsed. It is worth seeing the peculiarities typical of the region.

Our museum is located in the Vierraden district of Schwedt. In a listed former tobacco drying barn, the cultural history of tobacco cultivation, the regional conditions and traditions in the Oder-Randow region, the tobacco trade and processing are presented. The non-smoking area also shows the health consequences of tobacco consumption. A large outdoor area with old agricultural equipment, machines and display beds invites you to linger.

The exhibition is also available in English and Polish.
