The Kaiserallee has been funded as part of the cultural and regional heritage concept, a program of structural development in Rhineland-Palatinate since 2007. The Kaiserallee that has now emerged presents the most famous emperors who ruled at the time the Nahekopf was settled. The theme of the "Roman Emperor" is presented in a station-like manner using steles. Between the individual imperial steles are the original sandstones that were found on the Nahekopf. The first excavations on the Nahekopf took place as early as 1995/96. During renewed field work in 2007/08, interesting insights were gained, some of which contradicted older knowledge. For example, it was found out that the Nahekopf only existed from the Late Late Period, i.e. from the middle of the 2nd century to around 50 BC. was settled. It became apparent that the Nahekopf must have been a hilltop settlement that was regularly used by the village community. Unfortunately, the allotted time frame only allowed excavations in certain sub-areas. It is important to mention that the Kaiserallee is a modern replica and not tied to historical models. Marcus Aurelius Probus (* August 19, 232, d 282)

Probus for short, was Roman Emperor from 276 - 282. After the death of Emperor Tacitus, he was proclaimed Emperor. He tried to continue the consolidation work begun by Aurelian and to secure the borders, among other things, through settlement projects. In Rome he completed the construction of the Aurelian Walls and largely restored peace. Through decrees he promoted agriculture and especially viticulture north of the Alps. Therefore he is considered by some to be the one who introduced viticulture to the Moselle, for example. In September 282 he was murdered by dissatisfied legionnaires shortly before setting out on a campaign against the Persians. Two of his brothers were said to be Christian bishops of Constantinople. Lutius Domitius Aurelianus (b. September 9, 214 in Moesia or Sirmium; t 275 at Byzantium)

Aurelian for short, was Roman Emperor from 270-275. Coming from a humble background, he earned military merit and was proclaimed emperor by the troops in 270. Immediately after taking office, he found himself forced to continue a whole series of conflicts from the reign of his predecessor. He defeated the Germans in several campaigns, put down uprisings and unified the empire. With the new financial and monetary policy, he ended the "imperial crisis of the 3rd century." He surrounded Rome with a wall that can still be seen today. Aurelian introduced December 25 as the birthday of the sun god as a public holiday, laying the foundation for our celebration of Christmas. Aurelian's death was abrupt and unexpected when he was stabbed in the midst of planning his campaign in Mesopotamia. Source: text information board

Gaius Octavianus (* September 23, 63 BC in Rome, t August 19 AD in Nola near Naples )

Briefly Augustus (the Exalted), thereafter titles of all Roman emperors. After Caesar's assassination in 44 BC he achieved sole rule over the Roman Empire until 31 BC. and ended 100 years of civil wars. In this way he achieved a long period of internal peace, the Pax Augusta. Augustus organized and restructured the empire. He also created the province of Gallia Belgica with the capital Augusta Treverorum (today Trier), which also included the area of the Nahekopf. After the defeat of Varus with three legions in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, he and his successor Tiberius gave up the plan to move the borders of the empire to the Elbe, thereby dividing Germania into a Roman and a free part. Augustus stayed several times in Trier and Mainz. Source: text information board

Gaius Aurelius Valerius Diocletianus (* between 236 and 245 in Dalmatia, d around 312 in Spalatum)

Diocletian for short, was the Roman emperor from 284 - 305. He led a number of reforms, through which the Roman Empire finally overcame the crisis of the 3rd century and the era of the soldier emperors came to an end. His administrative reform was groundbreaking and laid the foundation for the late Roman state. Another important point was the introduction of the tetrarchy. He divided the empire into two parts, with an Augustus at the head and two sub-emperors. But shortly after Diocletian's retirement to private life in 305 - he was the only emperor to resign voluntarily - it became apparent that the system of the tetrarchy had been held together primarily by his authority. As early as 308, he had to intervene again in politics to preside over an imperial congress to settle disputes, but to no avail. The fact that his help was sought in 308 makes it clear that Diocletian enjoyed great respect even after 305. He probably died in 312 or soon after - the years 312, 313 and 316 are mentioned in the sources. Source: text information board
