    In memory of the pastor Ludwig Harms, who gathered people in the Tiefental to his sermons, there is a memorial stone. Right next to it a beautifully landscaped rest area with many nicely made seating.

      From the hikers' car park "Am Eicksberg" you can hike through beautiful heather areas and access parts of the nature reserve "Heideflächen Mitteles Lüßplateau". One encounters well-developed paths such as the hiking trails of the W10 "In the realm of the Heidschnucken" or the "Heidschnuckenweg" which lead through one of the most beautiful heather areas of the Südheide Nature Park. Depending on the time of year and time of day, you can meet a herd of Heidschnucken with a shepherd.

      The Heidepanoramaweg also runs here in the area. As a nature adventure trail, it provides information about the old cultural landscape and the flora and fauna of the heath.

      The impressively scenic valley valley offers a special highlight of the tour.

      A start at the "Misselhorner Heide" car park is also possible. The "Misselhorner Heide" car park is better known and easier to reach for many, as it cannot be reached via unpaved roads.

      The "AM Eicksberg" car park for hikers has some shady parking spaces, a hiker's hut, seating areas with a table, bicycle rack, and toilet

      Unfortunately, this hiking car park cannot be reached by public transport and with bicycles you have to be prepared for a longer ascent and dust. Mountain bikes are recommended.

            Ludwig Harms (born May 5, 1808 in Walsrode, † November 14, 1865 in Hermannsburg) was a German Protestant theologian. He is considered to be the "awakening of the heath". As one of the most important Christian revival preachers of the 19th century, he made Hermannsburg in the Lüneburg Heath, where he founded a mission house (Hermannsburg Mission) in 1849, the most important center of the revival movement in Lower Saxony.

                      Locals and holidaymakers especially love the vastness of the heath, because the various heath areas, especially in the Lüneburg Heath nature reserve, are so large that you can only see heath as far as the horizon.
