The High Bridge spans the Periolbach south of Raeren Castle. It was built of bluestone in the 18th century. The carters, who were on their way with their loaded carts from Botz, Rott and Pley in the direction of Raeren Castle to get to Aachen, could use the Periolbach as a route. The purpose of the high arch is to enable the sometimes highly laden carts to pass through.
The entrance followed at Katzenkönkel, where the river water was dammed.

This bridge is seven meters high above the bed of the Periolbach, which used to be used as a sunken road for the transport of Raeren's ceramics using carts.
The point at which the carts drove into the bed of the Periolbach is still clearly visible. The entire area is under monumental and landscape protection.
