Iron ore was mined here from 1936 to 1970 and transported to Minsleben train station by cable car. In 1989 a show mine with a lot of operating technology was opened here.

If you walk from the Büchenberg car park to the show mine, you will see a number of historical mining devices on the way.

Operations ceased here in 1970.

For the stamp hunters:
Stamp point 37 of the Harzer hiking nobility is located here. Here you can also stamp "Harzer Steiger" in the booklet. The quickest way to get there is via the Büchenberg car park.
