The Place de la Concorde is located at the foot of the Avenue des Champs-Elysées. It is distinguished today by the Louxor obelisk (dating from 3,300 years BC and erected in October 1836), by the prestigious hotels that border it and by the two monumental fountains ((Fontaine des Mers and Fontaine des Fleuves).

The Place de la Concorde is one of the largest and most important squares in Paris. It is located at the end of the Champs-Élysées and is famous for its history and architectural beauty.
In the centre of the square stands the Luxor Obelisk, a monument over 3,000 years old that was brought from the Temple of Luxor in Egypt. This obelisk was a gift from the viceroy of Egypt, Mehmet Ali, to France and was installed in the square in 1836. It is 23 metres high and weighs over 200 tonnes.
