    We really liked the castle chapel and everything has already been said from the previous comment. The path with stairs up to the chapel is easy to walk, you also have a beautiful view over to the Lech.

        Pöring Castle and the associated chapel were devastated during the Thirty Years' War and then refurbished. In 1731, in front of the figure of Mary from the lost village of Pössing, there was a healing of the sick, which led to the start of the Pöring pilgrimage. During this time, the name “Our dear Lady Mariae of Reconciliation” was mentioned for the first time.
        In 1739 the construction of a new chapel began to replace the old one, which is attributed to Dominikus Zimmermann on the basis of its interior decoration and external features. The ceiling picture above the nave also comes from him. Votive tablets on the back wall confirm the lively pilgrimage and also allow the appearance of the earlier chapel to be understood.
