The "Český dům" ("Czech House") hotel on Nádražní Street was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The house, which stands out with its lavishly decorated façade, was already a hotel at that time, the "Hotel Hahn". After the resettlement of the German population after World War II, the hotel changed hands and was renamed "Český dům". At the end of the 20th century, the hotel was closed and began to decay. Over the years, its condition has deteriorated dramatically. After the turn of the millennium, the house had several owners who tried to repair it and open a hotel here again, but unfortunately none of them succeeded. Today, the "Český dům" belongs to the private joint-stock company Sokolovská obchodní. The city says it has tried several times in the past to negotiate a takeover with the owner, but unfortunately the conditions were unacceptable for the city. That is why the administration is now trying to at least ensure that the decaying building does not endanger anyone. A lost place whose future is uncertain.
