A beautiful place to stay on the Liebesbankweg.

The Liebesbankweg is an approximately 7 km long circular hiking trail that has a lot to offer.

On the one hand, you can stamp here. Both the stamp 112 of the Harz hiking pin and three love bank stamps. The stamps are placed on a small stamp card, which you can pick up in advance at the tourist information center. If you fill it out and hand it back to the tourist information office, you will receive a very nice certificate for this hike. A great memory of a very special little hike.

There are a total of 25 love benches to admire on the Liebesbankweg. Here one bench is more beautiful than the other and invites you to linger.

        There is also:
        the gate of love
        the Ge(h) sealing stones
        the source of love
        Marble, stone and iron
        Gondolas
        the water playground
        a water treading pool
        a partner swing
and of course lots of wonderful nature!

The start of the Liebesbankweg is the parking lot at the stave church in Hahnenklee. But there are also two other entry options.

I can only warmly recommend that everyone take this path. He is really beautiful and lovingly made.

The Middle Grumbacher Pond is one of many idyllic ponds in the Upper Harz water shelf and the enchanted-looking paths here.

If you want to enjoy the idyll in peace, it's better to hike here outside of weekends, public holidays and holiday periods, because the Liebesbankweg and the pond cascades are now so popular that sometimes there's almost too much going on. Or you start running when the weather isn't so great, then it's quieter :)

The Mittlerer Grumbacher Teich is a former mining pond in the Upper Harz surrounded by forest on three sides. It is located southwest of the Bocksberg and east of the town of Bockswiese.
The man-made body of water was originally called the “Herzog-August-Teich” and served as a water and energy storage facility for the ore mines and smelting operations of the Bockswieser Zug. The pond dam was built in the summer of 1675 by just 70 miners in just 10 weeks. This reservoir was subsequently raised and partially redesigned using a new pond construction method.

In 1827 the dam at the Middle Grumbacher Pond almost burst. On the airside embankment, a section about 20 meters long slipped, leaving less than half a meter of the top of the dam standing. A hastily organized large-scale rescue operation was able to prevent the impending breach of the pond dam at the last moment. The impending catastrophe, which would have flooded and washed away the two raft ponds down the valley and large parts of the town of Bockswiese, did not occur and the pond, which is extremely important for the operation of the ore mines and smelting works, could be completely repaired without emptying it.

One of six ponds in a cascade in the Grumbach valley as well as various moats, which were used to transport the precious water. All of these facilities were built from 1680 to supply the water wheels of the mines around Hahnenklee-Bockswiese. They are part of the cultural monument "Oberharzer Wasserregal" and since 2010 also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.🌊💙🌊

It was created in 1684 for mining purposes and is located about one kilometer east of the Bockswiese settlement. The pond is part of the Auerhahn cascade that damms the Grumbach and is the third highest of these six bodies of water.

The pond dam was built in the summer of 1675 by only 70 miners in just 10 weeks. This Staubauwerk learned in the aftermath of an increase and a partial transformation to new pond construction.
The pond dam is about 9 meters high and about 120 meters long. The water behind it measures about 250 meters in length and a maximum of 80 meters in width. Its storage volume is around 76,000 m³ of water.
In 1827, almost the dam broke on Mittlerer Grumbacher Teich. On the air-side embankment, a piece about 20 meters long slipped off, so that stood less than half a meter from the dam crest. A hastily organized large-scale rescue operation was able to prevent the imminent break of the pond dam at the last moment. The threatening catastrophe, which would also have flooded and washed away the two down-stream ponds and large parts of the village Bockswiese, thus remained and for the operation of ore mines and iron works enormously important pond could be completely repaired without emptying.
The Mittlerer Grumbacher pond can be hiked well and in a relatively short time from the nearby district Bockswiese and the campsite at the Upper Grumbacher pond. It also represents an important landmark on the waterway "Auerhahn-Kaskade". With appropriate permission may also be fished at this pond. The water is also one of the many components of the Upper Harz water shelf. Therefore, the Middle Grumbacher pond is a cultural monument under appropriate protection.
