The old town of Brixen (Bressanone) in South Tyrol is one of the oldest towns in Tyrol and is considered the cultural center of the Eisack Valley.

Its historic center dates back to the 10th century and boasts narrow streets, arcades, Gothic and Baroque town houses, and numerous religious buildings, including the Brixen Cathedral with its cloister, the Parish Church of St. Michael, and the Hofburg complex – the former residence of the prince-bishops.

The central meeting point is the Cathedral Square, with its cafés and a view of the bronze statue of St. Cassian, patron saint of Brixen. The old town combines a medieval townscape with a vibrant modern atmosphere, boutiques, markets, and cultural events (e.g., the "Brixen Summer Emotions" and the Christmas market).
