Great historical place in the old town. Often there is a market here, it is lined with many restaurants with inviting terraces. The tribute to Pablo Picasso is omnipresent: his birthplace on one end, his statue sitting on a bench. In the middle of the square rises a neoclassical obelisk.

One of the largest and most famous squares in the city of Málaga, with an obelisk in honor of General Torrijos in the centre. Also since 2008 there is the portrait of Pablo Ruiz Picasso sitting on a marble bench, made of bronze by Francisco López Hernández.
The square itself has a square shape and around it there are numerous cultural resources such as the Picasso Foundation Birthplace and Museum, the Cervantes Theater, the Santiago Church, the Roman Theater, the Alcazaba, etc.
