In 2004, the dilapidated old Schmidt Theater was demolished and replaced by a new building, which opened on August 8, 2005. Despite the modern facade of the new theater, the plush charm of the old Schmidt Theater was preserved inside.

In-house musical productions, merciless comedy, and offbeat shows right on Germany's most famous street, the Reeperbahn – that's what the name Schmidt stands for!

Around 400,000 guests a year visit the three neighborhood theaters:

the Schmidt Theater, opened in 1988, Schmidts Tivoli, which began operating in 1991, and the youngest and smallest of the Schmidt family's children – Schmidtchen, which opened in 2015 in the St. Pauli Clubhouse.

The declared goal of these theaters is to offer the best entertainment for the mind, heart, and stomach in a unique setting with modern folk theater. In-house productions such as "Heiße Ecke,"
The St. Pauli Musical, "Die Königs vom Kiez," and "Cindy Reller," acclaimed children's plays, top-class guest performances, and the legendary "Schmidt Midnight Show" delight audiences here every evening.

All three stages are edible theaters. In addition, the in-house restaurant Reep, the bar in the Schmidt foyer, the cocktail bar Glanz & Gloria, and the legendary nightclub Angie's at Schmidts Tivoli are real crowd-pullers – and not just during theater visits.
