The building of the main post office is an important interface between the Karlovy Vary business and spa districts. At the time, it was one of the most modern postal facilities in the whole of Austria-Hungary.
On the third floor there are four allegorical statues representing the four pillars of postal traffic at that time - telegraph, rail traffic, shipping and mail. Today the building is a state monument.
