In 1736, the Trinitarians founded Marian Sodality in Vianden, a brotherhood intended to deepen the spiritual life of men and young people. In 1738, the foundation was recognized and confirmed by Pope Clement XII. Members of the organization meet regularly for devotional practices.
In 1761, the City and Sodalité had the necessary means to build a small chapel above the school, located near the cemetery and the convent. The work is entrusted to master mason Johannes Hell, originally from Tyrol.
