    It's just beautiful here. There were very few people here today. We were able to take our time and look at everything that pleased and pleased and above all enjoy nature. A visit is definitely worthwhile. You don't need any special hiking equipment. Entry costs € 3 if you arrive with a vehicle. There is a snack below the waterfall which was or was still closed. If you have smaller children with you, a visit to the Dwarf Park is also worthwhile.

                  The Rennsteig is an approximately 170 km long ridge path as well as a historic border path in the Thuringian Forest, Thuringian Slate Mountains and Franconian Forest.
                  It is also the oldest and, with around 100,000 hikers every year, the most frequented long-distance hiking trail in Germany.
                  It begins in the Hörschel district of Eisenach on the banks of the Werra and ends in Blankenstein (Rosenthal am Rennsteig municipality) at the Selbitz Bridge.
                  Its waymark is a white R.

                      Very nice path along the artificial stream that flows into the waterfall. Even in midsummer it is bearable and shady. The car park down by the waterfall is subject to a fee. You can park for 4 hours for 3€, a day ticket costs 5€.

                              The waterfall is the real highlight. But it's interesting to see how, so long ago, a waterway was simply created to create a permanent waterfall at this spot. If you take the circular route, you'll walk the entire waterway.
